What does the 'P' mean in a guitar tab?

Whenever you see this, it means that is where you are to play what is known as a ‘pull off’. It's a very common move to make when soloing, and it’s also one of the easiest things to accomplish.
Place your index finger on the 5th fret of the 3rd string. Keep your finger there, then use your 3rd finger to fret the note on the 7th fret. Play the note, then ‘pull off’ your third finger so that the note you are holding on the 5th fret rings out. It’s really that simple!
